Shoutout to the HistoryMiami Museum crew for the warm welcome to set off THE BREAKS: Spring 2022. We learned about Victor Hugo Green’s “The Green Book,” a guide for Black/African American travelers during the decades leading up to the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Green leveraged his personal and professional networks to produce this life-saving resource. Don’t sleep on your network!
The PAIR I (PATH Artists-In-Residence) cohort will use Mr. Green’s work and process as an inspiration for upcoming Hip Hop preservation projects. Stay tuned and check out “Navigating the Green Book,” a remix by one of our favorite collaborators, Brian Foo.
